Citrini Research Names Charles River, Revvity in AI Drug Thesis
The firm's case rests on faster drug candidate design leading to more laboratory testing, an increase it has not established.

Citrini Research has singled out Charles River Laboratories and Revvity in an AI drug discovery thesis, arguing that faster candidate design could create more work for laboratory testing and research equipment providers.
The firm developed the thesis after testing Anthropic’s Claude Science. Its experiment produced protein binders for laboratory testing, an early research result rather than a completed treatment.
Charles River Laboratories provides drug-testing services. Revvity supplies research instruments and software. Citrini sees both companies as potential beneficiaries if AI helps researchers design candidates more quickly and more of those candidates move into physical experiments.
That increase in laboratory work is the premise of the thesis, not an observed rise in demand. Designing candidates faster would still leave researchers with the task of testing them. Citrini began exploring life sciences in June.
