Figma Adds 20 New MCP Partners With Expanded Canvas Tools
The MCP improvements are available now, while code layers and Figma Specs are rolling out to eligible users.

Figma added 20 new partners to its Model Context Protocol support in an Oct. 15 announcement, expanding how connected AI agents can create and modify work on its design canvas.
The MCP improvements are available now. Agents can use design context such as variables, components and layout data, then create code layers, edit Figma Specs and generate images on the canvas. Writing beyond drafts requires Figma’s remote MCP server and a Full seat.
MCP is an open standard that connects AI applications with external systems, data and tools. Figma co-founder and CEO Dylan Field called it “not a perfect protocol” and said it is “advantaged more to frontier labs.” Field also warned that exposing more data through MCP could increase abuse risks.
Figma introduced its MCP server in beta in June 2025 to bring design context into AI coding tools. At Config India, the company also began rolling out code layers in open beta across plans and Figma Specs in open beta on paid plans. Access to both features is rolling out to eligible users.
