Coinbase Opens AXIS Deposit Address Creation Ahead of Token Unlock

Customers in supported regions can generate addresses, but deposits must wait until the token issuer enables transfers.

Coinbase is preparing to support trading in Axis Labs (AXIS) and has opened deposit address creation for the Base network token, though customers cannot deposit it until the issuer enables transfers.

Customers in regions where AXIS trading is supported can generate an address through Coinbase’s website, mobile app or Coinbase Exchange. The option gives them an address to use later; it does not mean AXIS can be transferred into a Coinbase account yet.

The issuer’s transfer unlock is the stated condition for deposits to start. That leaves customers able to create an address before they can move the token to it.

Coinbase added AXIS to its asset-listing roadmap on Oct. 20. The next stated step for AXIS deposits is for the issuer to enable transfers.
