Musk, Anthropic Stock Plans Would Top $110 Billion if Anthropic Hit $2 Trillion
At Anthropic’s last announced valuation of $965 billion, the same assumptions put the two proposals at about $58.9 billion combined.

Anthropic’s proposed fund and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s planned share gift would be worth about $110.6 billion combined if Anthropic reached a $2 trillion valuation, illustrating the scale of the separate proposals.
At that hypothetical valuation, an initial 5% stake in Anthropic would account for $100 billion. The remaining $10.64 billion values a possible SpaceX gift using the U.S. under-18 population and SpaceX’s Oct. 20 closing price of $147.79 at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC).
A July 1, 2025, population estimate counted 72,021,348 U.S. residents younger than 18. One share for each person at the Oct. 20 price would be valued at about $10.64 billion. The count is an assumption for the calculation: Musk has neither defined who qualifies as a child nor explained how he would deliver the stock.
Anthropic announced its plan to allocate an initial 5% of its shares to Anthropic Public Benefit Fund on Oct. 18. The allocation requires stockholder approval. Anthropic owns the fund, which could make nonprofit donations or distributions to selected groups, including efforts addressing AI’s effects on workers.
Musk said Oct. 19 that he plans to give one SpaceX share to every “kid in America” in 2027. He said the shares would come from his own holdings. His proposal describes gifts to individuals, while Anthropic’s would put shares in a fund owned by the company.
Anthropic’s last announced funding round, on May 28, valued the company at $965 billion after the investment. A 5% stake at that valuation would be worth $48.25 billion. Adding the same illustrative SpaceX gift value produces a combined estimate of about $58.9 billion. Anthropic has not set a price for its proposed initial public offering.
Anthropic’s board may add shares equal to 2% of the company for each 50% rise in its value above a baseline it has yet to disclose. That provision would follow the proposed initial allocation. Stockholders must approve the first 5% contribution, and Musk has targeted 2027 for his separate gift.
