Anchorage Digital Bank and Securitize plan to let the tokenization platform mint and redeem stablecoins directly through the bank, with custody and settlement handled there instead of through third-party intermediaries.

The direct connection would bring token creation and redemption into the same banking relationship that handles custody and settlement. Its platform holds more than $4 billion in assets across funds from Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR and VanEck.

Anchorage Digital Bank also issues USDtb with Ethena Labs. At 7:59:59 p.m. ET (23:59:59 UTC) on Aug. 31, USDtb held $530,419,653 in reserve assets, including $525,205,527 in BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL). The fund accounted for about 99.02% of those reserves.

Securitize handles BUIDL’s tokenization, issuance, compliance and trading. BUIDL was already part of USDtb’s reserves before the planned direct connection; the reserve figures describe existing backing rather than assets added by the arrangement.
