MoonPay and Dunamu Explore Stablecoin Payments and Treasury Uses
The companies will also examine whether linking MoonPay’s network with GIWA could widen overseas access to GIWA-based services and digital assets.

MoonPay and Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s Upbit exchange, have agreed to explore stablecoin payments and corporate treasury applications as Dunamu expands its digital-asset infrastructure beyond trading.
The companies plan to examine stablecoin use in cross-border payments and fund transfers. They will also study whether digital-asset infrastructure can support corporate finance and treasury management. The announcement did not include a payment-service launch.
MoonPay and Dunamu will explore linking MoonPay’s services and global network with GIWA, Dunamu’s Ethereum layer-2 network. The work is intended to widen overseas access to GIWA-based services and digital assets. The companies have not announced that the networks are connected.
Dunamu has previously outlined plans to build on-chain financial infrastructure for financial firms as it expands beyond its exchange business. The MoonPay collaboration adds a potential international payment and treasury use for that strategy, subject to the companies’ assessment of its technical and commercial potential.
Separately, Dunamu is pursuing a proposed share swap with Naver Financial that would combine its digital-asset platform with Naver’s payments and technology businesses. That transaction is scheduled to close March 31, 2027, subject to approvals and other conditions.
