Early Invisible Friends team member coinbilly said he has acquired the NFT brand and plans to expand it through physical products and animation, seeking an audience beyond digital collectibles.

The purchase includes the project's smart contracts, intellectual property, remaining inventory and After Effects files. coinbilly also plans experimental digital content and brand collaborations alongside physical goods and character animation. His aim is to introduce Invisible Friends to people who have never encountered NFTs.

Current holders will receive priority access to benefits. coinbilly plans to release a free commemorative open edition for them soon. Those plans address existing NFT owners while the new products are intended to bring the brand to a wider audience.

coinbilly said he began working on Invisible Friends five years ago and spent more than two years pursuing the acquisition, a process involving lawyers for multiple parties. Original artist Markus Magnusson created the initial artwork but will not participate in future operations. The planned free edition is the next step coinbilly has identified for holders.
