Bitget has agreed to acquire GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics, a licensed digital asset exchange operator in Thailand, through an investment in BTGT Management. If approved, the deal would expand Bitget's regulated presence in Southeast Asia.

The agreement does not complete the acquisition. The planned investment in BTGT Management is the route for the deal, and local regulatory approval remains outstanding. The acquisition therefore depends on approval in Thailand before Bitget can take over the exchange operator.

GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics is licensed to operate a digital asset exchange in Thailand. That status makes the target a regulated business in the market where approval is required. The transaction would add the Thai operator to Bitget's regulated Southeast Asian presence, while the approval condition means the regional expansion remains pending.

The agreement's stated significance is its potential to broaden Bitget's regulated activity in Southeast Asia through a licensed Thai exchange business. Local regulatory review is the next step for the acquisition to proceed.
