1inch Winds Down Crypto Card, Urges Users to Withdraw Balances

New sign-ups have closed, while existing cards remain accessible. Dec. 18, 2026, is the latest date 1inch currently expects users to be able to spend or withdraw balances.

1inch is winding down its crypto card, closing new sign-ups and urging existing users to spend or withdraw their balances as a payment product launched in 2024 comes to an end.

Existing cards and accounts remain accessible for now. 1inch has asked users to act as soon as possible and by Dec. 18, 2026, the latest date it can currently foresee for spending or withdrawing balances. The card issuer and service providers control when those functions end, so 1inch has not guaranteed that date.

Launched in April 2024, the 1inch Card let users spend cryptocurrency from a 1inch wallet, converting it to fiat currency at payment. It supported Apple Pay and Google Pay for online and in-store purchases. Mastercard and Crypto Life, a Baanx company, were partners, and Monavate was the electronic money issuer.

The wind-down comes as crypto card use has grown across the industry. Monthly transaction volume rose from about $100 million in early 2023 to more than $1.5 billion by late 2025. Those figures cover crypto cards broadly, rather than the 1inch program.

Baanx is also involved in MetaMask’s card program. MetaMask expanded its card to the U.S. in 2026, although new U.S. sign-ups are currently paused. Cross River Bank issues its U.S. card, while Monavate issued the 1inch Card.

Users may still be able to redeem a balance after card access ends. The issuer’s terms allow redemption for up to six years after an account agreement ends, rather than six years after Dec. 18. Fees may apply, including a balance-maintenance fee after 12 months. For now, 1inch is urging cardholders to spend or withdraw their balances by Dec. 18, 2026.
