Nvidia plans to invest in four German startups as part of a nearly $10 billion European commitment, while a separate agreement with Germany sets work on AI models for physical systems.

The planned investments name Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace. The companies work in robotics, medical software, AI audio and video generation, and satellite manufacturing, respectively. The commitment aims to promote Europe’s AI industry.

On Oct. 21, Chancellor Merz, Nvidia and Germany’s economy and energy ministry and research, technology and space ministry signed a declaration of intent. It covers developing physical AI models and advancing their use in robotics, industrial equipment and manufacturing.

Merz urged small and midsize businesses to make fuller use of existing industrial data to accelerate AI adoption. The plans extend Nvidia’s European startup push, including its earlier plans for five U.K. startups.
