Meta Tests Monthly Cap on Facebook Page Posts and Comments With External Links
Affected Pages can publish two organic posts or comments containing external links each month for free. Higher allowances start with Meta One’s $49.99 monthly Advanced plan.

Meta is testing a monthly limit on Facebook Page posts and comments containing external links, giving affected Pages two free slots and offering higher allowances through paid Meta One plans.
The limit counts organic posts and comments published by a Page. Adding an external link in a comment beneath a post without a link uses one of the Page’s monthly slots. The count applies to posts or comments containing links, rather than to individual URLs.
Several types of links are excluded. A Page can add links in comments beneath a post that already contains a link without using another slot. Links to Meta services, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads, also do not count. Neither do links in ads or eligible Facebook affiliate links.
Meta One’s Essential plan starts at $14.99 a month but keeps the allowance at two posts or comments containing external links. Advanced starts at $49.99 a month and raises the allowance to eight. Expert costs $149.99 a month and allows 20, while the $499.99-a-month Max plan has no limit. Prices and plan availability vary by region and account.
Free Pages receive a new allowance on the first day of each month. For subscribers, the allowance resets on the subscription renewal date. Unused slots do not carry over.
Meta introduced Meta One on Sept. 15 for individuals, creators and businesses. The link limit remains a test and does not apply to every Facebook Page. Meta has not published a country list for the test.
