Databricks Plans Abu Dhabi Office for More Than 60 Europe-Based Staff
The U.S. data and AI company plans to more than double the headcount of the team serving Middle East and Africa customers over the next 12 months.

Databricks plans to open an Abu Dhabi office in February 2027 and relocate more than 60 Europe-based employees there, giving its Middle East and Africa customer team a local base.
The employees currently serve the region from Europe. Databricks plans to more than double that team’s headcount over the next 12 months, starting from October 2026.
“Being close to our customers is also a key priority,” said Richard Wylie, Databricks’ regional vice president for the Middle East and Africa.
Databricks, a U.S. enterprise data and AI software company, announced Aug. 13 that it had closed a $5 billion funding round at a $190 billion valuation. Abu Dhabi investor MGX participated in the round.
The company’s annualized revenue run rate exceeded $7 billion in its second quarter, up more than 80% from a year earlier. A run rate expresses revenue at an annual pace; it is not revenue already earned over a full year.
Databricks expects to formally announce the office in December 2026, ahead of its planned February 2027 opening.
