Mach9 Raises $34 Million in Series A to Expand AI Surveying Tools
The company plans go-to-market expansion and product work on new data sources and feature types.

Mach9 raised $34 million in Series A financing to expand its AI software for turning infrastructure scans into editable engineering drawings. The round was co-led by First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, with Prudence and Quiet Capital also participating. Mach9 plans to put the funding toward go-to-market expansion and product work on additional data sources and feature types.
Mach9’s AI platform has seen use across more than 2,500 projects nationwide, spanning all 50 states and over 100,000 corridor miles.
The financing follows a shift in Mach9’s business focus. The company began in 2021 as Mach9 Robotics, developing hardware for infrastructure inspections. Customer discussions led it to focus on processing survey data instead. “Hardware wasn’t the bottleneck,” Mach9 co-founder and CEO Alex Baikovitz said.
Mach9’s Digital Surveyor 2 is a browser-based computer-aided design (CAD) tool that uses AI to process LiDAR point-cloud data from three-dimensional scans. It drafts features including road markings, signs, poles, wires and curbs for surveyors and engineers to review and refine.
The tool works with scans collected using existing surveying equipment. Mach9 announced Digital Surveyor 2 in March 2026. The new financing is intended to expand the company’s market reach and add support for more data sources and feature types.
