As of Oct. 20, Blackstone and Warburg Pincus were weighing a possible sale of IntraFi, whose network includes more than 3,000 participating U.S. financial institutions, in a transaction that could value the company above $10 billion.
At that point, the process was in an early stage, and the investors had not made a final decision. They could retain the company, and no sale price had been agreed. Morgan Stanley and Guggenheim Securities were advising IntraFi.
IntraFi's network lets participating banks divide customer deposits into amounts no greater than $250,000 and place them at other banks in the network. Eligible deposits may receive FDIC pass-through insurance if coverage requirements are met. IntraFi is not itself an FDIC-insured bank.
Blackstone acquired the business in 2019, and Warburg Pincus invested in it in 2022.
