TechnipFMC and BP Exploration & Production Inc. signed an agreement to explore supplying 20,000-psi subsea tree systems for BP’s Paleogene projects in the Gulf of America.

Dated Oct. 20, the memorandum of understanding sets a basis for discussing potential supply and technology development. It identifies no specific development, commits to no equipment order and provides no unit count, contract value or delivery timetable.

The new memorandum is separate from TechnipFMC’s existing integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contracts for BP’s Kaskida and Tiber developments. The Kaskida contract was announced in October 2024 with a value of $250 million to $500 million. The Tiber contract, announced in January 2026, was valued at $600 million to $800 million.

TechnipFMC Chair and CEO Doug Pferdehirt said, “The MoU reflects our commitment to advancing the deployment of standardized 20K solutions.”
