Legora raised $550 million in a Series E announced Oct. 21, putting the legal AI company at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation as it plans to expand in the United States and other markets.

Atreides Management led the financing. Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and J.P Morgan joined as new investors. Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Sands Capital also participated.

Legora’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeded $200 million by Oct. 21. ARR climbed from $1 million to $100 million in less than 18 months, then grew by another $100 million in fewer than six months. ARR is recurring revenue projected over a year.

The United States is Legora’s largest market by revenue. In-house legal teams made up more than 40% of new customers during the third quarter, and more than half of the AmLaw 50 are customers.

Legora’s platform serves more than 140,000 legal professionals at over 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams across more than 80 markets. The company has more than 1,000 employees across 18 offices. Founded in 2023, it launched its platform in October 2024.

The company plans to use the funding to expand in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific and develop its aOS platform. Planned additions include agentic in-take, horizon scanning and legal research. The platform is designed as an operating system for legal professionals, with AI agents built to handle multistep work.

“The opportunity in legal is enormous and we are still early,” Legora co-founder and CEO Max Junestrand said.

The new valuation follows Legora’s March Series D, which valued the company at $5.55 billion.
