CME Group posted record third-quarter revenue of $1.7 billion in 2026, up 13% from a year earlier, even as daily trading volume in its micro cryptocurrency products fell 46%.

The smaller crypto contracts averaged 160,000 contracts a day during the quarter, compared with 297,000 a year earlier. Across CME’s full cryptocurrency futures and options lineup, average daily volume was 196,000 contracts. The micro figure covers only part of that business.

Companywide, CME averaged 29.4 million contracts a day, a third-quarter record, with volume growth across all six major asset classes. Clearing and transaction fee revenue totaled $1.4 billion. Market data revenue rose 20% to a record $243 million. The $1.7 billion total was CME’s highest revenue for a third quarter and its second-highest for any quarter.

The micro crypto decline contrasted with a 50% increase in trading across CME’s micro products as a whole, which averaged 4.8 million contracts a day.
