Home BancShares, Inc., the parent company of Centennial Bank, set a $0.23 fourth-quarter cash dividend and enlarged its share buyback authorization, adding capacity for 6,549,877 more shares.

The dividend is unchanged from the third quarter and extends the company’s streak of quarterly cash payouts since its IPO to 82. It is scheduled for Dec. 2 for shareholders of record Nov. 11.

Directors approved the larger repurchase ceiling Oct. 16, bringing it to 20 million shares. There were 13,450,123 shares left under the earlier authorization, so the new limit makes another 6,549,877 shares available for repurchase.

Since the program began, Home BancShares has repurchased 33,057,384 shares at a total cost of $701.8 million. “Our strong earnings and capital position provide us the opportunity to continue to repurchase Home BancShares stock,” Chairman John Allison said.
