11 Micron Taoyuan Union Officials Stage 24-Hour Gate Strike
The action involved 11 union officials at the company gate and was not a stoppage by the full membership. The dispute centers on profit sharing and a one-time fiscal 2026 bonus.

Eleven union officials began a 24-hour strike at Micron’s Taoyuan gate at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday (01:00 UTC Thursday), keeping a profit-sharing dispute active after a separate Taichung labor deal. The action is scheduled to end at 9 p.m. ET Thursday (01:00 UTC Friday).
The action involved 11 union officials at the company gate and was not a stoppage by the full membership. It follows Taoyuan’s earlier plan for a solidarity strike on Oct. 22.
The Taoyuan and Taichung unions sought a one-time bonus based on Micron’s fiscal 2026 operating profit, with a requested rate of 15%, separate from the annual IPP bonus. For fiscal 2027 onward, they want 15% profit sharing paid quarterly instead of annually, along with protections against retaliation and free riding. Taoyuan’s union also wants Micron to specify both the percentage and amount of this year’s one-time bonus.
Micron proposed a new quarterly bonus program scheduled to start in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Micron said it expected to continue discussions after negotiations in Taoyuan on Oct. 21 ended without agreement. Details of the Taichung agreement have not been disclosed.
The next round of talks is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, at the Taoyuan City Government.
