U.S. residents are barred from Blockchain.com’s crypto options feature under its current eligibility rules. The restriction leaves the consumer-app offering for qualifying customers in supported jurisdictions, while excluding American users from access.

Users who qualify can set up a call or put tied to Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), Hyperliquid (HYPE), Avalanche (AVAX), XRP or TRON (TRX). Each position requires upfront funding in USDC, and the premium plus upfront fee sets the maximum trading loss.

At launch, contract expiries extend no farther than one week. Buyers must keep positions until they expire and cannot sell or close them early. The minimum premium is $5, with applicable fees added separately.

To open a position, a customer selects an asset, target price and expiry, then enters a spending amount; the app turns those inputs into a call or put contract. The current eligibility exclusions also include residents of the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and Japan, among other countries.

Blockchain.com announced the product Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. ET (13:00 UTC), after introducing perpetual futures earlier in 2026.
