Carrier Global Corporation announced Thursday, Oct. 22, that it plans to invest more than $600 million over three years in a Fort Worth manufacturing and engineering center. The project is intended to expand U.S. capacity for commercial cooling equipment, including systems used in data centers, health care, education and industrial markets.

The facility will cover more than one million square feet and make advanced thermal-management equipment, including air- and water-cooled commercial chillers. Carrier expects operations to begin in 2027; the date refers to the planned start of operations.

The project is expected to create 1,500 jobs in manufacturing, engineering and other roles. Plans for the center also include engineering labs and workforce-development partnerships with local schools and colleges. The facility is expected to pursue LEED certification.

Carrier's second-quarter 2026 results included order increases of about 40% companywide, about 65% in commercial HVAC and more than 300% in data centers. The figures provide a snapshot of orders across the company and two business areas as Carrier plans additional U.S. manufacturing capacity.

“This investment reflects the strong demand we are securing,” Carrier Chairman and CEO David Gitlin said. Operations at the Fort Worth center are expected to begin in 2027.
