BitMine held 6,041,481 Ether (ETH) as of 3 p.m. ET (7 p.m. UTC) Sunday, Oct. 18, leaving it 63,519 ETH short of the 5% Ethereum supply target where it plans to stop buying.

At $2,365 per ETH, the holdings were worth about $14.29 billion. The position represented 4.9% of the 122.1 million ETH supply figure.

Five percent of 122.1 million ETH is 6.105 million ETH, putting the Oct. 18 balance 63,519 ETH below the target. BitMine acquired 12,535 ETH during the prior week, showing purchases were still ongoing at the time of its latest update.

On Oct. 7, BitMine chairman Tom Lee described the remaining amount as about 100,000 ETH and said that would complete the accumulation effort. That estimate came before the Oct. 18 holdings update, which left fewer ETH to go. BitMine’s stated plan is to stop purchases once it reaches 5% of supply.
