Fireblocks Denies Visa Is in Talks to Buy Firm for $2.5 Billion
Fireblocks said the acquisition claim was new to the company and was not true at the time. Visa declined to comment on speculation.

Fireblocks denied Oct. 22 that it was in late-stage acquisition talks with Visa, saying a proposed purchase was not true at that time. The deal speculation put the company’s value at about $2.5 billion.
Fireblocks described the claim as new to the company. Visa declined to comment on rumors or speculation.
Fireblocks provides digital-asset custody and stablecoin infrastructure. It has added related capabilities through acquisitions: payments business First DAG in 2022, BlockFold in 2023 for about $10 million, and developer platform Dynamic in October 2025. Those purchases extended its work from institutional custody into payments and tools for on-chain applications.
Visa has pursued its own digital-asset infrastructure plans, including a proposal last October for a data and custody layer connecting banks with on-chain credit. A Fireblocks acquisition would have added custody and blockchain payment services to that effort.
