EVEDEX Ties EVE Rewards to Fees and Sets a One-Year Unstaking Period

Early unstaking can incur a penalty of up to 50%. The proposed token would have a fixed supply of 100 million EVE.

EVEDEX has outlined a proposed EVE token design that ties staking rewards to exchange fees and sets a yearlong exit period with penalties for holders who unstake early.

Under the plan, staking one EVE would issue one stEVE, a nontransferable token carrying voting rights in the EVEDEX decentralized autonomous organization. Unstaking would proceed linearly over one year. Tokens that have unlocked could be withdrawn at any time, while early unstaking could incur a penalty of up to 50%. The penalty would fall to zero by the end of the yearlong period.

The rewards would not follow a fixed annual percentage rate. Instead, they would depend on the fees generated by the protocol and each holder’s share of the staked supply. The design therefore ties potential payouts to exchange fee generation. Staking would become available only after EVE launches.

EVEDEX plans to generate the token six to 18 months after its mainnet launch. It lists a fixed supply of 100 million EVE. The proposed allocation assigns 31% to the treasury and DAO, 18% to the core team, 15% to partnerships and 12% to liquidity and vaults. Seed and private rounds would receive 10%, network incentives 8% and early users 6%.

Perpetual decentralized exchange trading has grown relative to centralized exchange trading. The decentralized-to-centralized perpetual trading volume ratio was 2% in Jan. 2024, reached 12% in Nov. 2025 and stood at 10% in Jan. 2026.

The ratio measures relative activity and cannot show whether users remain after incentives expire. EVEDEX’s proposed fee-based rewards and unstaking terms have not yet been tested in a live token market. The token generation window is six to 18 months after mainnet launch, with no calendar date specified.
