Nokia Sees Combined Optical and IP Networks Businesses Growing 25% to 30% in 2027
Nokia booked €1.5 billion in AI and cloud orders in the third quarter, while sales to those customers rose 126% year over year as reported.

Nokia expects its Optical and IP Networks businesses to grow 25% to 30% together in 2027, as sales and orders from AI and cloud customers increased in the third quarter. The outlook covers two businesses in Nokia’s Network Infrastructure segment.
The forecast is for the combined businesses; Nokia gave no separate 2027 growth rate for either one. The company also did not define the measure behind the forecast.
IP Networks recorded third-quarter net sales of €839 million, up 45% from a year earlier as reported and 43% on a constant-currency basis. Optical Networks sales totaled €933 million, up 19% as reported and 18% on a constant-currency basis.
Across Network Infrastructure, third-quarter net sales were €2.158 billion, an increase of 17% as reported and 15% on a constant-currency basis. The segment includes both Optical Networks and IP Networks.
Sales to AI and cloud customers reached €631 million in the July-to-September quarter, compared with €279 million a year earlier. That represented growth of 126% as reported and 123% on a constant-currency basis. New orders from those customers totaled €1.5 billion, and their order intake increased 118% year over year.
For 2026, Nokia expects growth in the combined Optical and IP Networks businesses to be somewhat above its previous 18% to 20% assumption. Its full-year comparable operating-profit outlook remains €2.1 billion to €2.6 billion. The 2027 projection also appeared in an earlier report on Nokia’s third-quarter results.
