Financial institutions have budgeted for digital-asset infrastructure more often than they have launched initiatives: 88% have budgets, while 16% have launched initiatives.

Fireblocks and the MENA Fintech Association plan to discuss stablecoin integration in financial products on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The discussion will also address what institutions need to launch stablecoin offerings. Fireblocks operates a platform for transferring, storing and issuing cryptocurrencies.

Earlier findings on digital-asset adoption barriers identified specialized talent shortages as an obstacle for 42% of surveyed financial institutions. In those findings, 55% of banks cited institution-grade infrastructure and operational support as key to advancing adoption.
