MISO selected a consortium led by Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI) and GridLiance Heartland, LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC, for an Iowa transmission project with an estimated cost of approximately $1.23 billion.
Dairyland Power Cooperative is also part of the consortium. The group will oversee development and construction of the EASL project, then take responsibility for its operation and maintenance.
