Israeli cybersecurity startup Mave raised $34 million to develop AI agents that work across companies’ existing security and IT systems, financing research and enterprise products as it emerges from stealth.

Mave announced the financing Oct. 22 as it introduced its platform. Red Dot Capital Partners led the $28 million Series A, with Lumir Growth Partners participating. Dell Technologies Capital and Emerge Ventures led a separate $6 million seed round and also participated in the Series A.

Mave will use the capital to expand its AI research, develop enterprise products and pursue international growth. Mave expects to more than double its workforce, primarily by hiring for AI research and go-to-market roles.

The product connects security software with the IT systems customers already use. Its agents query those systems in their own languages and gather current information as an investigation develops. Telemetry, or data generated by security and IT systems, does not have to be moved into a central database before that work begins.

The system covers several parts of security operations: reviewing threat intelligence, hunting for suspicious activity, investigating incidents, developing detection methods and responding to threats. In practice, the agents are intended to gather context from connected tools as teams work through those tasks, rather than requiring a single system to hold all the underlying data first.

Mave’s platform is running in more than 200 security operations centers. These centers monitor security alerts and investigate potential cyber threats. The company’s planned hiring increase will focus on research and go-to-market work, alongside its expansion of enterprise products and international operations.

“Coverage is a budget decision, not a security one,” said Atad Peled, a partner at Red Dot Capital Partners.

Mave co-founder and CEO Raziel Oren said, “Every pivot adds delay, and every delay creates risk.”
