DeepSeek has completed a financing round valued at about $15 billion, making it the largest single-round raise in China’s AI industry and illustrating the scale of investment behind global competition in AI.

The deal is valued at 100 billion yuan, or about $15 billion. Its fundraising target rose from 80 billion yuan to 100 billion yuan before completion, an increase of 20 billion yuan. The 80 billion yuan figure was the earlier target, not a separate financing; the completed round is valued at 100 billion yuan.

The main investors include 宁德时代 and 腾讯控股. IDG 资本 and other existing investors are continuing to participate. Most of the new investors are industrial capital firms, adding industry-backed participants alongside returning investors. The investor mix combines previous backers with new firms from industry, while the total round size establishes the record.

At this scale, the deal stands as a major capital commitment in the global contest to develop AI.
