GrafTech International Ltd. expects weighted-average realized graphite electrode pricing to rise by a mid-single-digit percentage in Q4 2026 from Q3.

The company gave the outlook Friday, Oct. 23, when it reported third-quarter net sales of $140.2 million, down 3% year over year, and a net loss of $46.8 million, or $1.76 per share. Sales volume was 28,800 metric tons, flat from a year earlier. Realized pricing averaged about $3,900 per metric ton, down 7% year over year and flat from the second quarter.

GrafTech’s planned closure of its Monterrey, Mexico, plant is expected to reduce annual graphite electrode capacity to about 127,000 metric tons from about 178,000 after the transition. Production is expected to end early in the second quarter of 2027, with customer requirements moving to plants in France and Spain.

The company estimates annual cash cost savings of $20 million to $25 million, with the full benefit expected in 2028. It separately estimates $20 million to $25 million in one-time cash costs for the closure, most expected by the end of 2027. GrafTech recorded $14 million in related restructuring and exit charges in Q3, most of them noncash.
