Freda Co-Founder Says He Is Investing Personal Funds in Startup
Freda says its platform maps compliance obligations and runs related workflows, with MiCA among the frameworks it addresses.

Freda CEO and co-founder Daniel Kjellén says he is committing personal funds to the Stockholm compliance startup, arguing that regulatory demands slowed Tink, the open-banking company Visa acquired in 2022.
“I’m betting my own money that this problem is worth fixing,” Kjellén wrote Saturday. He did not disclose an amount.
Freda describes its product as an AI-agent platform designed to identify compliance obligations and run related workflows. The Stockholm-based company says it was founded in 2025 and has 20+ compliance practitioners and engineers.
Freda lists the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) among the frameworks its platform addresses.
Visa completed its acquisition of Tink on March 10, 2022, for $1.9 billion in cash. Tink’s open-banking platform gave customers access to aggregated financial data and services such as risk insights and account verification.
