Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, extending the British asset manager’s move to place an existing money market product on blockchain infrastructure.

The Irish-registered UCITS money market fund keeps its existing structure off-chain, while its holdings are mirrored on the ledger. This is Aviva Investors’ second existing fund to receive tokenized shares, following a U.S. dollar liquidity fund in July. The sterling fund is the firm’s largest.

Together, the two tokenized share classes have more than $116 million in investment. Aviva has put $66 million into the new sterling class.

BNY Mellon holds the fund’s underlying assets. Komainu handles digital asset custody, while Licuido provides tokenization platform support. The share class is available to qualified investors with digital wallets.
