At 4:07 p.m. ET (20:07 UTC) Oct. 26, Truelink Capital announced an agreement to buy Johnson Controls’ global intrusion products business. The unit is expected to operate independently after closing.

The business makes equipment for intrusion detection and alarm communications, including panels, sensors and detectors. Its brands include DSC, Qolsys, PowerG, Visonic, Bentel and Sur-Gard.

Security dealers are the operation’s main sales channel. Its customers and industry partners also include integrators, distributors and service providers across North America, Latin America, EMEA and APAC.

Truelink’s planned investments include new panels, sensors, communicators and interactive platforms. It also plans to expand engineering capacity and develop its brand and channel programs.

“We see tremendous runway ahead,” said Todd Golditch, Truelink Capital’s co-founder and managing partner.

The acquisition is the fourth platform investment for Truelink Capital Fund II. Truelink Capital has more than $4.3 billion in assets under management. The transaction follows its 2024 purchase of Air Distribution Technologies, another Johnson Controls carve-out.

The intrusion products business traces its roots to 1973. Tyco built the operation through its acquisitions of DSC and Visonic. The business became part of Johnson Controls in the companies’ 2016 merger. Truelink expects to complete the deal during the first half of 2027 if it obtains regulatory approval and meets the other closing conditions. No purchase price or other financial terms were disclosed.
