Worldwide PC Shipments Fall 20% Ahead of Intel’s Q3 Results
A preliminary estimate put global shipments at 62.7 million units, a market-wide figure that does not measure Intel’s own PC sales. Intel reports Oct. 29.

Worldwide PC shipments fell 20.1% year over year in the third quarter, a market-wide decline that offers context for Intel’s Oct. 29 earnings but does not measure the chipmaker’s own sales.
A preliminary estimate put worldwide shipments at 62.7 million units, down 9.1% from the second quarter. The figures cover the overall PC market, not Intel-specific unit sales.
Intel’s July outlook called for third-quarter revenue of $15.8 billion to $16.8 billion and non-GAAP diluted earnings of $0.38 per share. In the second quarter, its Data Center and AI business generated $6.3 billion in revenue, up 59% from a year earlier. Server volume increased 9% year over year as demand from hyperscalers grew, while demand exceeded available supply. Intel’s Q2 server-supply context was part of its earlier earnings coverage.
Intel is scheduled to release its third-quarter results after the market closes Thursday, Oct. 29. Its earnings call is set for 5 p.m. ET (21:00 UTC).
