CoinShares Board Approves Share Buyback of Up to $40 Million
Capital from sales of the company’s corporate treasury Ether and Solana holdings will go toward the program, which is authorized through its next annual meeting, expected in the second quarter of 2027.

CoinShares approved a program to repurchase up to $40 million of its ordinary shares, directing capital from recent sales of Ether and Solana treasury holdings toward the purchases.
CoinShares announced the board-approved plan Oct. 27 under authority shareholders granted at an extraordinary general meeting Sept. 15. Shareholders approved authority for CoinShares to repurchase up to 25% of its outstanding ordinary shares. That broader authorization runs through Sept. 15, 2031, while the new program has a separate dollar cap and is authorized until the next annual general meeting, expected in the second quarter of 2027. The shareholder vote was covered earlier.
Earlier in October, CoinShares sold its entire corporate treasury Ether (ETH) holding and half of its corporate treasury Solana (SOL) holding. The company is directing capital from those sales toward the repurchase program. The announcement did not specify a start date for purchases or say that any repurchases had been completed.
CoinShares said its assets under management in the third quarter of 2026 were in line with fourth-quarter 2025 levels. The board viewed buying shares at current valuations as a more attractive use of capital than keeping the corresponding digital assets. The announcement did not give an AUM figure for the comparison.
Purchases are planned on the open market through independent brokers, subject to blackout periods and the conditions of SEC Rule 10b-18. CoinShares may also use trading plans established under Rule 10b5-1. Purchase timing and amounts will depend on market conditions and other factors.
The $40 million amount is the program’s maximum, and it sets no minimum purchase requirement. CoinShares may suspend or discontinue the program. The authorization lasts until the company’s next annual general meeting, expected in the second quarter of 2027.
