Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) shares rose about 5% Tuesday after the company disclosed that initial Helios rackscale systems had been installed at Meta and were being tested.

AMD also announced plans to invest $1 billion in Meta’s equity offering. It did not disclose when it would make the investment or provide its terms.

AMD EPYC processors support the computing environment used for Meta’s Muse AI agent. Meta also has AMD Instinct GPUs deployed in its production infrastructure.

“With Helios now running at Meta, we are taking that partnership to a new scale in the superintelligence era,” AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su said.

The Feb. 24 agreement between AMD and Meta covers deployment of up to six gigawatts of Instinct GPUs. AMD expected to begin sending products that support the initial gigawatt in the second half of 2026. Earlier coverage of AMD’s second-quarter results noted that Helios rack sales were expected to appear in the third-quarter report.

AMD is scheduled to release fiscal third-quarter results after the market closes Tuesday, Nov. 3. Its conference call is set for 5 p.m. ET (22:00 UTC).
