Draganfly Inc. announced its first Heavy Lift drone sales in the U.S. defense market Tuesday, alongside follow-on Commander 3XL purchases by an existing U.S. Department of War customer. The company described the Heavy Lift sales as spanning multiple Light Infantry Divisions.

The announcement came at 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC). Draganfly did not identify the customer or the divisions, or disclose an aircraft count, order value, delivery timing or intended mission for the Heavy Lift drones. The new Commander 3XL systems are intended to complement Flex platforms the customer previously bought for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and broader operational needs.

A commercial sale came in July 2025, when a Fortune 50 telecommunications company bought multiple Heavy Lift drones for emergency-response and communications-network uses.

Draganfly President and CEO Cameron Chell said, “Defense customers are increasingly looking for integrated capabilities that can adapt as their operational requirements evolve.”
