Add as a preferred source on GoogleSwissBorg Burns 300,000 BORG Tokens After Guardians Vote
The quarterly reduction lifts cumulative burns since April 2021 above 14.2 million BORG. About 800,000 tokens have been burned in 2026 through Q3.
SwissBorg removed 300,000 BORG tokens from circulation on Oct. 27 after a Guardians vote, extending a quarterly program that has burned more than 14.2 million tokens since April 2021.
Burns during the first two quarters of 2026 totaled about 500,000 BORG. Adding the Q3 reduction brings the year’s total through the third quarter to roughly 800,000.
Guardians are Premium users who lock BORG and vote on what SwissBorg does with tokens it buys back. They can choose to permanently burn those tokens or distribute them as community rewards.
The quarterly process pairs token buybacks with a community vote on what happens to the tokens. The cumulative burn represents about 1.42% of BORG’s 1 billion maximum supply.
