Rohit Patel, a Meta Superintelligence Labs director, announced plans to leave Meta and build ndoc, an AI-native workspace positioned as an alternative to Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. The product brings presentations, written analysis, datasets and Python scripts into one workspace instead of adding an AI assistant to existing office software.

Patel spent eight years building AI at Meta. In his farewell post, he wrote, “After 7.8 years at Meta, this is my goodbye post.” He said he planned to work on projects of his own. Patel’s current role with ndoc is founder and CEO.

ndoc divides its workspace into three areas. Stage is for presentations and dashboards; Narrative is for analyses and figures; and Model is for datasets and Python scripts. The sections bring presentation material, written analysis and data work into one product.

Patel said users can inspect the scripts used to create documents. “There’s nothing hidden behind the curtain here,” he said. His work at Meta included reinforcement learning and AI evaluations, and ndoc’s emphasis on exposing scripts lets users examine how a document was produced alongside its finished content.

Patel said he plans to open-source the format.

As of Tuesday, Oct. 27, ndoc was running an enterprise pilot and offering limited alpha access to people on a waitlist. Sign-up was free, with customers expected to pay for usage and tokens. No firm dates were provided for the planned releases.

Patel said a beta was planned for the coming weeks, followed by a full launch in 2027. As of Oct. 27, ndoc had three people and no funding. Patel said he wanted to see evidence that users liked the product before seeking funding.
