Motorola Solutions received a federal task order from the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Prisons (BOP), with $139,567,423.80 obligated for a radio system effort. The order is listed under the Department of Homeland Security’s TACCOM II MAC.

The award action is dated Sept. 15, 2026. Its listed performance period runs from Sept. 21, 2026, through Sept. 20, 2028. The obligated amount is the figure recorded against the order, not a separately confirmed contract ceiling.

At Federal Medical Center Devens, radio reception gaps were documented in hospital and below-ground areas in December 2024. Some radios at the facility were past their service dates and lacked an emergency “man down” function.

The 2021 Prison Camera Reform Act tasked the BOP director with addressing radio shortcomings, including missing emergency “man down” alerts.
