Toyota Finance completed a 1 billion-yen security-token bond Tuesday, Oct. 27, after demand exceeded planned issuance by more than 10 times, the Toyota Group’s first public offering of this kind.
The one-year bond carried an annual interest rate of 1.720%, and the minimum subscription was 100,000 yen. Retail investors could apply through the TOYOTA Wallet app without opening a securities account. A lottery determined allocations.
The offering also linked the bond to customer benefits, including track tickets and subsidies for car purchases.
