Littelfuse posted record adjusted diluted earnings per share of $5.79 for the quarter ended Sept. 26, topping its prior forecast even as net sales fell short of the company’s outlook.

Net sales rose 22.7% from $624.640 million a year earlier to $766.729 million. That result was $13.271 million below the low end of Littelfuse’s prior forecast of $780 million to $800 million.

Adjusted diluted EPS, a non-GAAP measure, increased 96% from $2.95 a year earlier. At $5.79, it was 74 cents above the high end of the company’s prior range of $4.85 to $5.05. GAAP diluted EPS rose 62% to $4.49 from $2.77.

Net sales reflected a $28.5 million reduction tied to a one-time Dortmund contract amendment fee, recorded against semiconductor net sales. Industrial segment sales climbed 64.6% to $157.847 million. The Basler acquisition contributed 38% to industrial segment growth, while organic sales increased 27%.

“We delivered strong third quarter results reflecting broad-based demand strength, disciplined execution, and continued momentum across the portfolio,” Littelfuse President and CEO Greg Henderson said.

Littelfuse projected fourth-quarter adjusted diluted EPS of $5.05 to $5.25 on sales of $750 million to $770 million.
