Upwind raised $400 million in a financing round that values the cloud-security company at $3.8 billion, adding capital for product engineering and expansion of its sales and marketing teams.

Bessemer Venture Partners led the round. Existing investors Greylock Partners and Craft Ventures also participated, along with other current backers.

Upwind provides security tools for enterprise cloud infrastructure. Its platform detects malware and suspicious activity across those systems. This year, the company expanded its platform to address security risks related to artificial intelligence.

The company plans to direct the new funding toward engineering research and development and building its sales and marketing teams.
