Robinhood Plans More Investment in Chain Developer Support
Robinhood has staffed a team for builders, but CEO Vlad Tenev gave no budget or firm timeline for expanded support.

Robinhood plans to increase investment in support for Robinhood Chain developers after early network activity surprised the company and led it to staff a builder team, CEO Vlad Tenev said Tuesday.
“I think you should expect to see us really ramp that up because we want to make it the best developer ecosystem as well as the best sort of global on-chain community,” Tenev said on Robinhood’s third-quarter earnings call. Builders had told Robinhood it could do more to support them, he said.
Tenev said further help was expected “in the near future,” but gave no budget or firm timeline. Robinhood did not specify the team’s size, an investment amount or a firm date for further support, and did not name specific developer programs.
The plan starts with stock tokens and perpetuals, then expands to other tokenized assets. Tenev said developers could use those assets as building blocks for on-chain applications.
Robinhood launched the Chain public mainnet on July 1, 2026. The permissionless, Ethereum-compatible layer 2 uses Arbitrum technology and is designed for financial services and tokenized real-world assets. Stock Tokens are unavailable in the U.S. and to U.S. persons.
Robinhood Chain generated more than $50 million in chain fees during its first quarter on mainnet and ranked among the top five networks by revenue and volume.
The comments add detail to Tenev’s earlier discussion of Robinhood’s developer support, when he said the company was investing resources to attract builders and planned to share more details.
