SMT Scharf Lowers 2026 Revenue Forecast to €75 Million to €85 Million
Preliminary nine-month revenue fell to €51.5 million from €70.9 million, and the company now expects a 2026 EBIT loss of up to €1.5 million.

SMT Scharf AG lowered its 2026 revenue and earnings outlook after preliminary results showed first-nine-month revenue of €51.5 million and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of €0.0 million. The revenue figure was down from €70.9 million a year earlier, while EBIT had been €2.4 million in the same 2025 period.
The company now forecasts revenue of €75 million to €85 million for 2026, replacing its previous range of €95 million to €115 million. It expects an EBIT loss of €0.5 million to €1.5 million, versus its prior forecast of €1 million to €2 million in EBIT.
SMT Scharf said weaker investment in coal mining and tunnel logistics weakened the company’s new-systems business. It also recorded €0.6 million in one-time provision charges during the third quarter after a Middle East tunnel project ended unexpectedly. The company expects customer investment to remain subdued in the fourth quarter.
SMT Scharf supplies and services equipment and logistics systems used to move people and cargo in underground mines and tunnel construction. It said a 19-seat personnel carrier and an eight-tonne cargo vehicle received MA certification in China, and cited sales partnerships with the CFH Group in Kazakhstan and South Africa.
CEO Longjiao Wang said, “We continue to see attractive business prospects for the SMT Scharf Group in the medium and long term.” The company’s financial calendar lists Oct. 29 as the publication date for its nine-month report.
