In President Trump’s second term, the U.S. government has announced 43 stock and warrant transactions across more than 40 companies, involving about $30 billion as market moves reshape the portfolio’s value.

The deals touch semiconductors, critical minerals and quantum computing. A warrant gives its holder a way to obtain equity later under agreed conditions, so some transactions represent potential future share ownership.

Chipmaker Intel is among the portfolio’s most closely watched investments. The government acquired a 9.9% stake in August 2025 for about $8.9 billion. The stake’s market value reached as high as $61 billion before a recent selloff brought it down to about $41 billion.

Another transaction gave the government a 35% stake in an unnamed company vying for business in Venezuela’s oil sector. Many of the deals also include loans, supply agreements or other special arrangements.
