Curtiss-Wright plans to invest $30 million in its Round Rock, Texas, facility to increase capacity for pressure and temperature sensors used in commercial nuclear reactors.

Announced Oct. 29, the project will add an Advanced Innovation Center, a metrology testing laboratory and a project management office. The site is also planned to accommodate later product lines, such as radiation monitoring systems.

The company expects to increase headcount at the facility but provided no hiring target or construction schedule. The project aims to improve production flow while opening the way to higher output and efficiency.

Chair and CEO Lynn M. Bamford said Curtiss-Wright was “prepared to support our customers.”

In July, Curtiss-Wright announced an $80 million, multiyear investment to expand its Cheswick, Pennsylvania, facility. That project serves naval defense and commercial nuclear markets.
