The Canton Foundation approved 15,775,000 Canton Coin (CC) for RedStone’s Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS), with half of the award contingent on milestones intended to demonstrate institutional adoption.

Approval came at a Tech & Ops voting meeting Sept. 16. The award covers eight milestones over 12 months, with payments tied to progress across the plan.

CAPS is a pricing framework in development for institutional use. A shared price feed can expose which institution is using the data, while separate requests may leave counterparties working from different observations. CAPS is designed to give participants one reference price while restricting the data provider’s visibility into each institution’s position and negotiated transaction terms. RedStone co-founder and COO Marcin Kaźmierczak described its release as open source: “We’re releasing CAPS as open source.”

The adoption targets put specific thresholds on the plan. The six-month benchmark sets a floor of 20 active feeds on Zenith mainnet and 10,000 successful price updates over an uninterrupted 30-day period. The month-eight target requires at least $1 million in liquidity bridged to Canton through Memora and at least 100 distinct bridging events. These are grant criteria, not reported results.

Zenith EVM and Memora are the project’s first design partners, and both integrations remain in development. The plan identifies tokenized funds, private market assets and collateral pricing as intended uses for CAPS.

The award comes from the Canton Foundation’s Development Fund, which supports shared network work such as infrastructure, developer tools and security. The fund is financed by reallocating 5% of future Canton Coin supply.
