GATX Expects 2026 EPS to Modestly Exceed $10.30 Range Ceiling
Third-quarter diluted EPS was $2.92, up from $2.25 a year earlier, while fleet utilization reached 98.4%.

GATX Corporation expects 2026 diluted earnings per share to modestly exceed $10.30, the top of its $9.90 to $10.30 range, as railcar resale activity and portfolio fees support its outlook.
GATX tied the outlook to strength in secondary-market railcar sales and higher fees for managing Brookfield’s portfolio. The company also noted that the amount of earnings upside depends in part on the timing of future opportunities.
Third-quarter diluted EPS was $2.92, compared with $2.25 in the third quarter of 2025. Fleet utilization was 98.4%, and the renewal success rate was 86.1%.
Pricing was flat to slightly higher sequentially across most of the fleet. A 12.4% figure for LPI renewals reflected the measure’s trailing-period methodology and fleet mix.
GATX management also cited uncertainty around remarketing timing and buyers’ capital allocations. Those considerations accompany the company’s outlook alongside the timing of future opportunities.
