Valero Energy Corporation said Friday it agreed to acquire a 700-acre former refinery site in Houston from LyondellBasell for $320.5 million. The property is next to Valero’s Houston refinery.

LyondellBasell stopped processing crude at the site in the first quarter of 2025. The former refinery had capacity of 263,776 barrels per calendar day, amid a broader decline in U.S. refinery capacity.
